For 21 years (yes, the band can finally drink!) Lake Street Dive has excited audiences with their delightful blending of genres. On any Lake Street Dive album, one will hear an assortment of blues, ragtime, jazz, pop, rock and folk. In fact, drummer Mike Calabrese once said they wanted to “sound like The Beatles and Motown had a party together,” which is a fairly good assessment, all things considered. The brilliance of their avant-garde style truly shines live, with the members’ personalities captivating audiences while they play their hearts out. Whether it’s at a small, intimate club or an amphitheater like this weekend, Lake Street Dive is an Americana treasure to behold.
