The ramp up of computer technology leading to our present moment has been so unbelievably fast that it creates a sort of historical whiplash. The digital infrastructure that manages every aspect of our lives has all happened in the blink of an eye, and each year the Vintage Computer Federation comes together in Mountain View to host an event to memorializing that blink. Once again the Computer History Museum will display exhibits of finely preserved machines, defunct technologies and “little oddities” that tell the story of how the present moment came to be.
