Adapted from George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion, Lerner and Loewe’s 1956 musical My Fair Lady is one of the most enduring Broadway shows of all time. The story follows Eliza Doolittle, a working-class flower seller with a strong Cockney accent, who’s transformed into an upper-class woman with the help of phonetics professor Henry Higgins. Instead of Edwardian London, this production by The Pear Theatre takes place inside a pub, but includes signature songs like “Wouldn’t It be Loverly?” “I Could Have Danced All Night” and “Get Me to the Church on Time.” Directed by Sara K. Dean, the cast features Corinna Laskin and Melissa Mei Jones. Performances go until March 8.
