Orgone — DON' STOP: Orgōne will have you moving to tracks on their new Lost Knights album like Wicked Karma.

Dancing shoes exist for weekends like this, when Orgōne brings its high-energy soul music to town. Conceived as a four-piece instrumental group in the early 1990s, this LA-based band has grown massively, toured relentlessly and refined their infectious retro-funk sound. With their latest record, Lost Knights, slated for release later this spring, they are ready to introduce some new irresistible grooves. As founding guitarist Sergio Rios told Relix, “Sometimes it takes a nudge to let go and get on the dance floor. And sometimes it takes a big ol’ push … a love shove, if you will.”

Addie Mahmassani is a poet based in Santa Cruz. She holds a PhD in American Studies from Rutgers University-Newark and is currently an MFA student in creative writing at San Jose State University. There, she is a Teaching Associate as well as the lead poetry editor of Reed Magazine, California's oldest literary journal. She also surfs, sings and loves a part-sheepdog named Lou.
