Born in Oakland to Lebanese and Palestinian parents, Sammy Obeid graduated from UC Berkeley with a double major and got offered a tech job. He turned it down and founded KO Comedy instead. Since then, he has hosted Netflix’s 100 Humans, appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and America’s Got Talent, and established a striking reputation for strong, unapologetic writing. As the world record holder for performing comedy 1,001 consecutive nights, Sammy has been featured in Time magazine and The New York Times—the latter of which lauds his analytic style: “full of wordplay, clever misdirection and ethnic humor.”
