Brooklyn-based indie guitarist Steve Gunn heads west this week to play songs off his latest album, Other You. Recorded in Los Angeles, Gunn’s sixth studio album finds the musician reaching new heights of his melodic and lyrical genius. These intricate songs draw inspiration from a vast array of genres, including ‘60s psychedelia and ‘70s folk, while foregrounding Gunn’s uniquely wistful voice and tender sensibility. The album’s production in the California sunshine can be heard, too. As his label, Matador Records, reports, Other You “is easily Gunn’s brightest and most life-affirming work to date.”
