South Bay Area jazz supergroup SJZ Collective is back at it again this week, this time paying tribute to the late great Wayne Shorter, who passed away earlier this year. Wayne Shorter was a titan of American saxophone who gave us over a half century of unparalleled music. He’s also known for his role as co-founder of jazz fusion group Weather Report. The SJZ Collective, meanwhile, is a powerhouse group that represents the sound of the South Bay with their electrifying and eclectic sound—the diverse group well represents the Bay’s cultural melting pot.
