Blackburn reads from her debut novel, Dead in Long Beach, which addresses the mania of grief through an end-of-the-world lesbian assassin. Prior to this, her work received the Prairie Schooner book prize for fiction, leading to the 2017 publication of her collected stories Black Jesus and Other Superheroes. In 2021, she published another collection, How to Wrestle a Girl, which won a New York Times Editor’s Choice.
