Silicon Valley Bars & Clubs 2010

Once in a while, a wandering reveler might accidentally stumble upon a humble strip-mall bar that delivers an unexpected fun-filled evening. Or a plush downtown lounge that lacks pretension and offers some bargain cocktails. Or a side-street dive that happens to host a charming crowd.

But such serendipity is rare. So we often stick to the familiar to avoid disappointment. And that’s a shame.

Metro’s annual Bars and Clubs guide offers a horizon-expanding directory compiled by a team of professionals who have spent weeks—or in some cases, big chunks of their lives—visiting the valley’s various watering holes. The 2010 edition contains some names you’ll know, along with some surprises, all handily categorized.
