Hey, you guys! It’s hard to imagine the smash Netflix hit Stranger Things without the likes of The Goonies. This Steven Spielberg-produced coming-of-age action-adventure flick first hit theaters in 1985. It follows a band of mischievous kids and their older teenage siblings as they uncover a mysterious map, which in turn leads them on a wild treasure hunt. With the bad guys hot on their heels, they must use their wiles and wits to outsmart and outrun. The film gave two A-list actors—Josh Brolin and Sean Astin—their first big breaks. It plays at 3Below as part of the theater’s ongoing After School Specials series.
