This weekend, Palo Alto Players begins a run of Allegiance, an award-winning musical about a Japanese-American family torn from their Salinas home to live in an internment camp during World War II. Composer, lyricist and book co-writer Jay Kuo was inspired for his fourth full-length work by the story of actor George Takei, who in childhood was one of the 120,000 people forcibly relocated by the U.S. government. Allegiance’s official opening night is April 23 and the play runs through May 8, but Friday offers a Pick-Your-Price preview night with tickets ranging from $10-$40.
