No Love Allowed Performed at Mountain View CPA

Legendary composer Richard Wagner based the libretto for his second opera, Das Liebesverbot––literally translated to The Ban on Love––on Shakespeare’s comedy Measure for Measure. All forms of pleasure (as in, doing the deed) are banned in the Sicilian town of Palermo, and, understandably, everyone loses their minds about it. Soprano Leslie Sandefur stars as Isabella opposite Michael Dailey, who is sponsored by the Wagner Society of Northern California in the tenor role of Luzio. Pocket Opera performed No Love Allowed at Berkeley’s Hillside Club and San Francisco’s Legion of Honor, before the upcoming final show at CPA.
