Love them or hate them, the dastardly hyperpop duo known as 100 gecs have cemented their place as contemporary music trailblazers. Their 2019 debut 1000 Gecs drew accolades from all over with hitters like “Money Machine,” “Stupid Horse” and “I Need Help Immediately”—even climbing the ivory tower when NYU’s Tisch School made the band artists-in-residence for the 2020-2021 academic year. This month saw the release of a long-awaited follow-up, titled (wait for it) 10,000 Gecs. Opening for the infinitely numbered Gecs this Tuesday is Machine Girl, whose electronic hardcore may melt brains even harder than the headliners.
