With two albums to her name—Hard Won and Vanity—and another coming soon, the Americana-leaning harpist, singer and songwriter Lizzie No has garnered praise for her ability to shift between vulnerable and joyous from one line to the next. In the music video for her hit song “Narcissus,” she dances the “He Ain’t Shit Shuffle.” The scene is the perfect embodiment of text from her official bio: “as a Queer, Black woman, her entire existence is a living, breathing, singing protest against a genre and a country that, on their best days, are reluctant to reckon with the very foundations upon which they were built.”
