This four-person band from Bogotá, Colombia, has a folk-pop sensibility that resonates with folk Americana and straight-up American pop, reminiscent of the infectious and fun Japanese pop songs at the end of edgy teen anime films—but in Spanish, with better musicality and instrumentation. Morat definitely has a boy-band vibe, but enough grown-up, Latin sensibility and sexiness to make it the perfect music for dancing closely with a crush, or maybe something more. (LP)
