.Jon Nakamatsu and the Jazz Age in San Jose

To kick off its newest season, Symphony San Jose invites audiences to return to the roaring ’20s by immersing themselves in the detailed opulence of the historic California Theatre. Visitors can walk the red carpet, pop a bottle of bubbly, and see why the period is known as the Jazz Age. To help set the scene, Symphony San Jose has invited San Jose’s favorite hometown pianist, Jon Nakamatsu, to give audiences a veritable tour of the time. The show opens with George Gershwin’s “An American in Paris,” touches on other greats like Aaron Copland and concludes with a rendition of Maurice Ravel’s “Boléro.”
