¡Wepa Fest! in San Jose

Founded in 1989, the Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana (MACLA) is a contemporary art space focused on Chicano and Latino history and experience. Located in the SoFA district of San Jose, MACLA bought the building they are located in during the highly gentrified year of 2013, further securing a space for Chicano culture to be represented and praised for future generations to come. This week they celebrate ¡WEPA! Fest, a free art and music festival fun for all ages. From 5 to 10pm, attendees can enjoy the sounds of salsa jazz band Orquesta Taino, percussionist and vocalist Edgardo Cambón & Candela, the high-energy music of Puerto Rican ensemble Latin Rhythm Boys, and Cuban DJ Leydis.
