Guitarist Albert Lee first came to prominence in England with Chris Farlowe and the Thunderbirds, then with country rockers Head Hands & Feet. Subsequent work with Deep Purple’s Jon Lord, The Crickets, Emmylou Harris, and The Everly Brothers underscored both Lee’s versatility and his stature in the music community. A Grammy Award winner named Best Country Guitarist five times by Guitar Player Magazine, Lee is among the most in-demand session players and collaborators. Still a vital player at age 81, Lee balances originality and reverence for his influences. 2024’s Lay it Down is his latest.
