The rock ’n’ roll piano man, Jason D. Williams, is coming to the South Bay to treat audiences with his high-energy, fast-paced and well-placed tunes that hark back to a different age, while simultaneously maintaining a vibe that feels ageless. People used to think of the piano as a rocking instrument, until the millennium reverted it to a soft, unthreatening accompaniment instrument for Norah Jones-style soft ballads, the type sold by the cartload at Starbucks. Luckily, Jason D. Williams shoots those twinkling keys full of steroids so they can roar and shout. His music reminds everyone what a full eight octaves sounds like when infused with raw, honky-tonk power.
