Live theatre is a treat, and an important, worthwhile experience for all ages. Stanford University’s Department of Music is bringing it to life with She Loves Me, a musical about the sudden emergence of love in unlikely places. Its core story was a 1937 play called Parfumerie, which not only inspired this musical, but also Nora Ephron’s movie version, You’ve Got Mail. Back in the day, when people had pen pals, friendships were forged through the written word and the US Postal Service. The only explosions are through the rivalries, and She Loves Me is a poignant reminder that one’s soulmate might be just around the corner. Goes until Jan 25.
Fri, Jan 23, 7:30pm, $32
