Love them or hate them, there’s no denying the impact The Queers have had on punk rock. Screeching Weasel, MXPX, and Blink-182 have all cited them as major influences. Three chords, three members and a buttload of songs have pushed the band across five decades from their humble beginnings in New Hampshire in 1981. Playing off The Ramones, The Queers have a tight formula for writing songs about love, drugs, fighting Nazis and the perpetual boredom of American culture. Their use of humor to convey their message sometimes flies under the radar, leading people to take them seriously when often The Queers are just shining a mirror on society and the punk rock subculture.
