Created in 2007, Hatsune Miku is one of the O.V.s original vocaloids, which are voice synthesizer software. A programmer enters the lyrics and melodies, and the software comes up with the song. AI music before that was a thing. Hatsune Miku’s voice was created with samples by Japanese actress Saki. But instead of having a faceless entity, it was decided Miku needed a face/body, in the appearance of a 16-year-old girl with blue hair, very Kawaii. Hatsune Miku is a hub where fans can use her software to create their own music and add to Miku’s repertoire. There’s a whole community of fans constantly adding to Miku’s discography. There’s a show on April 23 also.
