There’s no predictive model for comedians anymore, and Becky Robinson found her lane as a mouthy, alcohol-swilling, white wife, she calls the Entitled Housewife. Robinson immediately struck a nerve online and took her viral persona to the comedy stage. It’s a page (or chapter) out of Joan Rivers career, less homage, more a modern retooling of a wife molded out of drama and a less-than-happy marriage. Robinson has several characters she has honed, but the shade-wearing, golf-playing diva parlayed into music with her hit song, “Mama Needs a Claw.” It was just two years ago, at JFL New Face of Comedy, that Robinson wowed and walked away with a development deal. Performance also on Saturday.
