Ballet has a reputation for being stuffy and boring, perhaps clinging too hard to the past. Fast Forward, described as a “fast-paced evening of contemporary ballet,” may put those stereotypes to rest, as the dancers of the New Ballet describe this event as their favorite program of the season. Emerging choreographers from the local community and country are encouraged to experiment, allowing the performers to dance to work created specifically for them. The atmosphere of risk-taking, creativity and collaboration between choreographer and dancer at Fast Forward keeps ballet fresh and exciting. (LP)
