Driven by his own recent experience of becoming a father, the Los Angeles-based, Bay Area-trained artist Greg Ito presents a solo exhibition honoring the beauty and brutality of generational sacrifice, as inspired by Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree. The tree offers its apples, branches, and trunk to support a boy through different stages of life, eventually reduced to a stump in old age. To Give and Take features new paintings, sculptures, and a video installation alongside previous works in Ito’s signature graphic style. Painting with meticulous precision, he builds layered, surreal scenes overlapping domestic interiors with shifting environmental landscapes. Goes until Feb 21, 2027.
