Michael Echaniz has a special show in store for the Art Boutiki crowd this Saturday night. The Bay Area pianist and composer is celebrating the release of his debut album, Seven Shades of Violet. The original compositions are intricate jazz piano works, strong enough to receive a rare four-star review from DownBeat magazine. By all accounts, this virtuoso is just getting started. With a BM degree from California Jazz Conservatory and an MFA from CalArts, along with a hefty list of esteemed collaborators, there’s no telling what Echaniz will do next.
