In an ocean of Grateful Dead-related bands, Moonalice is unique. It’s managed by original GD roadie and Jerry Garcia bestie Steve Parish, who acts as the band’s MC with stories and humor. The 10-piece band has eons of psychedelic street cred. Bassist Pete Sears replaced Jack Casady when the Jefferson Airplane became the Jefferson Starship. Lead guitarist Barry Sless is often on the road with Bob Weir and the Wolf Brothers. Co-founder Roger McNamee is a shining example of using wealth to raise people up, and his work in the band shines. Lead vocalist Lester Chambers, of the Chambers Brothers, brings soul alongside the exquisite T-Sisters. More talent and happiness than a short story can tell.
