Rarely does a show feature two artists without a single vowel to their names. Luckily, both compensate for their friction-heavy monikers effortlessly with rounded, dulcet, sonic landscapes. Though slchld only started making music a few years ago, he’s already found his niche by blazing unique trails through the well-worn landscapes of R&B and hip hop. His songs are smooth and romantic but keep a sharp edge to their jazzlike beats. Pryvt explores similar smooth-soul R&B pathways but reinvigorates them with a dreamier shoegaze atmosphere that lulls the mind into comfort as much as it slyly pulls at heartstrings.
