Discovering new, underground music that is far better than whatever the favorite Top 40 TikTok tune is rocks! Shutups are one of those bands, minus the part where they’ve been around for a whopping 13 years. What the hell? How is everyone sleeping on this band and their post-punk, shoegaze and melodic insanity? Maybe it’s because they hail from Livermore, which isn’t an epicenter of any West Coast music scenes. Their latest album, I can’t eat nearly as much as I want to vomit, came out in 2022, meaning the quartet is due to drop some mind-melting, heart-warming music sometime soon. Hopefully.
