For 30 years now, Skinlab has kept the heavy metal dream alive with vocalist Steev Esquivel, guitarist Mike Roberts, guitarist Gary Wendt and drummer Paul Hopkins. After releasing three full-length studio albums and an EP in the ’90s, the band disbanded when two core members left. The band returned after a three-year hiatus, only to disband again before returning to full form in 2016. Musically, Skinlab plays a refreshing mix of nu-metal and groove metal, riding the line between atmospheric brutality and thrash metal passion.
