.Smuin Ballet Brings Four Works to Mountain View

Smuin Contemporary Ballet’s season finale features four innovative dances in graceful succession. The late Michael Smuin’s Dream is a pas de deux infused with the company’s hallmark commitment to testing “the boundaries of contemporary ballet within a distinctly modern style.” And then there are two new works created by female choreographers: French Kiss, by longtime Smuin artist Amy Seiwert, and Sextette, by Kate Skarpetowska. Finally the dancers of Val Caniparoli’s Swipe find inspiration in a remix of “String Quartet No. 2” by Gabriel Prokofiev, the grandson of the original composer.
