Alkaline Trio is a band that falls into the catch 22 of not changing/changing too much. When a band changes its sound, they get knocked for trying something different and when they don’t change enough, they get knocked for not pushing the envelope. My Shame Is True coolly shows off the band’s ability to navigate that line and never sway too far to either side.
