The music business is not known for being kind, and few musicians have been through the shit-wringer as much as dear Wynonna Judd. Growing up in the spotlight, daughter of a luminary who then took her own life, sister of an award-winning actress, and a cultural juggernaut in her own right, Judd has the voice of a soothing lullaby, if soothing lullabies had voices. She shouldn’t be standing, but she is, and she is beloved for it. Wynonna Judd works hard and heals hard. This tour is healing and triumph in action. The genre may be country, but her music transcends definition with human themes and pop influences.
