Within the rarefied air of comedy green rooms, the origin story of 4’ 4” comedian Brad Williams is told on repeat. Williams, at the time, was an employee of Disneyland in Anaheim, and he went to see Carlos Mencia perform. Mencia told a joke about dwarves (Williams has achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism), and everyone around Williams went silent. Mencia invited Williams onstage and the fearless lad said, “I was not one of the seven,”—and got laughs.” Within a short amount of time, Mencia invited Williams on tour. Since then, Williams has traveled the world, telling jokes and has a new hour of comedy on The Growth Spurt Tour.
