Though a resolutely Bay Area band, Dark Satellite includes members from different cities with equally diverse musical backgrounds, taking disparate genres like jazz, rock, indie and even grindcore and combining them into a constellation of musical poetry that evades easy categorization. With sonics that are highly nostalgic and uniquely innovative, the band creates music that sounds timeless. Supporting Dark Satellite is Orbit 17, an experimental rock band exploring the inherent conflict between analog and digital, reckoning with the harmony the two worlds can create. The band Dear Banshee also supports the show.
