Formed in 1968 as Three Souls in My Mind, El Tri split off in 1985 with Alex Lora at the helm. Between the two bands, the prolific musician has written and recorded a mind-blowing 50 albums. El Tri has frequently been called “Mexico’s answer to the Rolling Stones” because of their hard-hitting, blues-based rock ‘n roll sound. But to this, Lora says people have it backwards, often referring to the Stones as “Britain’s El Tri.” This is rock for the people, by the people and they’re known to bring Good Times editor Brad Kava on stage to rock with them whenever they’re in the Bay Area.
