Avi Vinocur (formerly of the Stone Foxes) calls San Francisco home, and his songwriting partner Patrick Dyer Wolf resides in North Carolina, so naturally, they named their folk-rock duo Goodnight, Texas, after a town that sits right between them on the map. They cover a lot of ground musically, too, as evidenced by their collaborations with Metallica and the San Francisco Symphony. That was them playing and singing their tune “Railroad” over the opening scenes of Tiger King. Madeline Hawthorne opens, helping to kick off San Jose’s all-ages fall Free Concert Series at Levitt Pavilion in St. James Park.
