A graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music and UCLA’s Thelonious Monk Institute, drummer Jonathan Pinson has worked with some of the biggest names in jazz, including Kamasi Washington, Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock. He’s been involved with Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad’s groundbreaking Jazz is Dead project as well. But his artistry extends well beyond the jazz idiom, including work with Seal and Moses Sumney. His jazz ensemble Boom Clap features keyboardist Brandon Cordoba, guitarist Balam García, bassist Jermaine Paul and MAE.SUN on saxophone.
