A decade after the release of “Tu Falta de Querer,” the aching torch ballad that swept Mon Laferte’s larger-than-life vocals into the Latin Grammy scene, Laferte reaches theatrical heights in Femme Fatale. Reinterpreting the classic archetype with a feminist approach, she and co-producer Manú Jalil blend jazz, bolero, soul, and orchestral pop throughout themes of heartbreak, loneliness, and aging. Guest collaborators on this tenth studio album include fellow Latin Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriters like Natalia Lafourcade and Nathy Peluso. Tour opener is Mexican singer-songwriter Silvana Estrada, whose sophomore album Vendrán Suaves Lluvias meditates on beauty’s persistence in the face of despair.
