Usually, the words “revolutionary” and “cellist” are said in the same sentence. But when it comes to Rushadicus, there’s no better way to describe his avant-garde music. His 2018 album, Magic Potato Carpet, Rushadicus combines experimental cello playing with hip hop beatboxing, poetry, and bluegrass for a sound that truly is all his own. In 2019, Rushadicus took it a step in the more sentimental direction with The Adventures of Donna and Bill. But don’t take his artistic freedom for erratic nonsense disguising itself as deep. Rushadicus not only graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship ;he was also nominated for a Grammy while still a student.
