The Bay Area has a long tradition of Asian restaurants moonlighting as punk clubs like the infamous Mabuhay Gardens in the ’80s which hosted bands like the Dead Kennedys and the Avengers. Thankfully, Jade Cathay continues that tradition and, also thanks to local promoters Heavy Lemon, punks of all ages get to mosh to bands from all over the world. Like Special Thanks, the two-piece Japanese punk act formed in 2005. They will be joined by Emergency Broadcast System, Indigo Elephant and William Johnston (who just so happens to be celebrating an EP release that night).
