The southeast Los Angeles neo-soul unit, The Altons, creates a soundscape dripping with the liquid 1970’s soul sound that left the more pumped up ’60s sound in the dust. Extreme heat isn’t required to appreciate The Altons, but there’s something about their sweet harmonies that makes even the hottest day cooler. Adriana Flores and Bryan Ponce combine their smooth voices and with Ponce’s chill guitar work, Caitlin Moss’ beats and Chris “Bolillo” Manjarrez’s steady bass, their bilingual songs lose no intimacy. The Altons can tap the heart of any crowd.
