For those not paying attention, Art Boutiki is one of the raddest spots in town. It’s one part kitschy, one part artsy, with a dash of comic book shop and an entire music hall in the back. Back in November, owner Dan Vado and multimedia content strategist Emily Parent began recording weekly talks about the trials and tribulations of making art for a living. They didn’t have a strategy, but jumped in head-first, quickly realizing the anti-marketing campaign was their brand. Their talks became a huge success and quickly turned into The Unexpected Mentor podcast, which will be recording a live episode this Thursday.
