Canadian journalist Alanna Mitchell’s one-woman show Sea Sick combines scientific research, theatrical storytelling and memoir to reframe the climate crisis with a focus on humanity’s impact on the global ocean. The play’s evolution began over a decade ago with the 2009 publication of Mitchell’s award-winning book of the same name, which attracted the attention of theatremakers Franco Boni and Ravi Jain. The team adapted Mitchell’s work for the stage, their production now touring globally to great acclaim. Engaging and informative, Sea Sick will resonate not just with ocean lovers but with anyone who calls Earth home.
