Based on the 1984 cult classic by B-movie director and icon Lloyd Kaufman, The Toxic Avenger: The Musical follows Melvin Ferd, The Third, who, after falling into a vat of toxic waste and becoming a superhero mutant, tries to clean up all the pollution in the fictional New Jersey town of Tromaville. The stage adaptation premiered in 2008 and features music and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and David Bryan. Directed by Los Altos Stage Company’s Doug Brook, this production stars actors Harker Russell, Kennedy Johnson, Molly Thornton, Gary Stanford and Max Mahle. Performances go until June 28.
