Washington-born singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile is the rare artist who has achieved both impressive commercial success (all nine of her studio albums have landed on the Billboard 200, with five making it into the Top Ten) and critical acclaim (an Academy Award nomination, 11 Grammy Award wins, two Emmys and countless other accolades). A passionate advocate for progressive causes, Carlile stood up to the so-called “bathroom bill” in North Carolina, spearhead fundraising in aid to victims of the 2023 Turkey-Syria earthquake and raised funds for families targeted by the Trump administration’s ICE. Carlile’s latest studio album is the 2025 critical favorite Returning to Myself.
