All hail the supergroup. In the studio for a year, only touring for the last year, this monster mash-up of Alain Johannes (Queen of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures), Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees), Duke Garwood (Mark Lanegan Band) and co-founder of R.E.M. Peter Buck is called Drink The Sea. When this many talents get together, the output is diverse, eclectic and exotic. Abbey Blackwell (Alvvays) is on the bass, and Lisette Garcia plays a wide range of percussion. The songs are lush and the work is of a bunch of artists stashing their egos for the ride.
