Marxist philosopher Antonio Gramsci once said, “The old world is dying, and the new world struggles to be born; now is the time of poets.” Maybe that’s not quite what he said, but maybe it should’ve been. Who else but poets and artists shines a light on humanity’s true being as the world grows dark and full of monsters? That’s the power of Eve’s Heaven, a four-piece queer, feminist folk act that embraces meditative stories while emboldening the sacred within. And this Friday their “Eat the Fruit” show will envelope audiences in creationists myths reenvisioned without the misogyny and patriarchy. While the event is free, donations are encouraged to help support the venue and artists.
