While some critics classify Goose as a progressive rock group, the Connecticut-based quartet traffics primarily in the jam band field. Goose’s close association with Dave Matthews Band, Dead & Company and similar acts only reinforces that notion. While Goose has released six studio sets (of which 2026’s Big Modern! is their latest), their primary medium is the live album. To date Goose has released no less than 17 live sets, all documenting shows from 2020 or later. While the band’s lineup has evolved over the years, founding members Rick Mitarotonda (guitar) and Trevor Weekz (bass) are mainstays.
