Mötley Crüe has spent 45 years making excess look like a business plan. The Sunset Strip veterans bring “The Return of the Carnival of Sins” to Shoreline, revisiting the elaborate spectacle of their 2005-2006 tour with a reimagined production and updated setlist. Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee are joined by guitarist John 5, whose technical firepower fits comfortably into a catalog built on sleaze, swagger and enormous choruses. Tesla and Extreme round out a bill with enough hard-rock history to qualify for preservation funding. Subtlety was never particularly central to the enterprise, and an anniversary seems unlikely to change that.
